In the heart of the Monteferrato, among the rolling hills of Prato and 30 km far from Florence, you can find the Farmhouse "La Casaccia".

Within the estate (350 hectars, predominantly woodland) the farm business "Reticaia" cultivates 5000 olive trees, and offers hospitality in the antique XVI century farmhouse called "La Casaccia", which has been recently renovated and divided into five spacious and differently sized apartments.

All apartments have: fire places, self-contained central heating, fully equipped kitchen, satellite TV, safe and outdoor area with table and chairs. One of the apartments is equipped with disabled facilities.

From the garden, with barbecue and pool (mt. 7x15), one can enjoy the view over the lake and surrounding fields and woodlands, with Florence, Prato and Pistoia in the distance.

You can take private cooking lessons, have a cook on request, hire mountain bikes and fishing rods to be used in the private lake, and purchase farm products such as olive oil, chestnut flower etc.

At a distance of 500 mt. you'll find the ancient main house, with medieval tower, a chapel with frescoes dating from XVI and XVII centuries, a vast courtyard adorned with beautiful lemon trees and rose bushes, and a garden with an astonishing path with century old plane trees and blue hydrangeas. Here we can organize receptions and various events.

The eye roves freely over a wonderful landscape, where the soul regenerates enjoying fresh unpolluted air, quietness, colours and scents of a luxuriant nature where deers, hares and pheasants live.

At a short distance one can reach cities of great artistic and cultural interest, such as: Florence, Pistoia, Prato and Lucca and also less famous charming towns.
